All India Democratic Students (AIDSO) expressed its opposition to the closure of government schools under the guise of consolidation and on Monday organized a protest in the village of Alaganchi in Nanjangud Taluk Protest.
Nithin, District Secretary of AidSO, said that the state government proceeds with closing more than 6,000 government schools.
“In order to build this, AIDSO launched a nationwide signature campaign.
Aidso claimed that there were more than 59,000 vacancies for teachers in government schools. In addition, the infrastructure of existing schools disintegrated, he said, stressed that from 46,000 government schools in the state escaped 21,000 school buildings and many of them are on the verge of collapse.
In addition, there were more than 3,500 schools without usable toilets and thousands of schools did not have access to clean drinking water, according to AIDSO.
He said that instead of fulfilling its responsibility, the government blames parents for not writing their children to schools, which is condemnable.
AIDSO said it was a conspiracy that gradually eliminates government schools under the pretext of a low number of students and completely privatizes education. Mr. Nithin accused the government of implementing anti-dummy policy and at the same time claiming to be for the poor.
AIDSO demanded that the government immediately changed its attitude and strengthen government schools, occupy all unoccupied positions of teachers, provided government schools throughout the state with basic infrastructure and allocated more funds of education.
