Members of the Democratic Students of All India (AidSO), who express shock of the rape and threat to two lecturers and their friend in Bengalur.
In Tuesday, the District Secretary of AIDSO NK Tuljaram said that this frightening crime underlines the urgent need to solve the ubiquitous issue of sexual violence and abuse of power in educational institutions.
AIDSO members said that the involvement of professors who are entrusted with responsibility for the formation of young minds in such abominable deeds is a serious betrayal of trust. They demanded immediate suspension of accused lecturers, implementation of strict measures, as well as the introduction of effective remedy mechanisms of complaints in educational institutions to protect students from sexual harassment and abuse.
Mr. Tuljaram appealed to students, teachers and citizens all over the state to unify themselves in protest against the abominable crime.
