AIADMK rebel MLA C.Ve. Shanmugam will visit Mailam constituency

Almost two days after many members of the rival faction of AIADMK MLAs led by former minister SP Velumani buried the hatchet and reached a truce with party general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami, leading dissident C.Ve. Shanmugam, who is yet to make a clear statement, visited his constituency Mailam in Villupuram district on Friday to thank the people for electing him.

“I will carry out my duties with full commitment. I am determined to always work for you. As was said during the election, people could meet me directly without hesitation and I am always ready to provide all assistance,” he said.

Sources said Mr Shanmugam’s supporters at the meeting urged him to continue working within the AIADMK.
