The AIADMK on Friday announced that leaders of its allies would participate in demonstrations at various places in the state on March 17 against the DMK government’s “failure” on various issues, including law and order.
AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami will lead the rally in Chennai; BJP state president Nainar Nagenthiran in Madurai; former National Party President K. Annamalai in Coimbatore; another former chief, Tamilisai Soundararajan in Tirunelveli; Vanathi Srinivasan, national president of BJP women’s wing, in Tiurppur; PMK chief R. Anbumani, in Cuddalore; Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam general secretary TTV Dhinakaran in Thanjavur and Tamil Manila Congress (Moopanar) president GK Vasan in Erode, according to a party statement.
In another statement, Mr. Palaniswami criticized the DMK government for opening five veterinary hospitals “in haste” as the regime’s tenure drew to a close. He also referred to reports that the government was trying to grant permission to many private veterinary hospitals despite Chief Minister MK Stalin not opening a single veterinary sub-centre in the last five years, according to the AIADMK leader.
