Last month, Netflix India announced its invasion of animated Indian mythology with “Kurukshetra”, an ambitious new series that reimaginates Mahabharat for modern audiences.
“New, absorbing experience”
Gaurav Dwivedi, CEO of Prasar Bharati, said in the edition: “Prasar Bharati has always tried to take stories about national and cultural importance for every home. The acquisition of the original Mahabharat has strengthened as these stories are involved.
The initiative, supported by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, is in accordance with the vision of Make in India and Digital India, which shows how inheritance and innovations can evolve together, mentioned the statement report.
Vijay Subramaniam, founder and CEO of Collective Artists Network, shared that watching traditional Mahabharat on television played a significant role in shaping his imagination and cultural identity.
He explained that the aim of the new AI series is to provide today’s generation with a similarly engaging and unifying experience – which integrates modern technology and at the same time remains true to tradition.
