The process of passing the latest remains of the victims of Air India’s Boeing 787 their families started on Saturday (June 14, 2025) and, according to Gujarat Gujarat, a total of 11 victims were identified.

Previously, eight visually identifiable victims were released without the need for DNA analysis.
To speed up the DNA comparison process, Gujarat’s State Minister for Home, Harsh Sanghavi (FSL) organized Saturday.
“In addition to forensic experts from all over Gujarat, several experts sent by the center are continuously working to match DNA samples. Once the results are prepared, they are sent to a civil hospital so that families can claim bodies,” he said.
Families
According to Aloka Kumar Pandey, Commissioner for Assistance and Secretary, Ministry of Income, the state government made contact with families of 11 foreign nationals.
“A total of 230 teams were created to make contact and pass on to the fatal remnants of families. Today we started to pass the bodies,” he said.
Mr. Pandey added that the victims of Gujarat had been from 18 districts and that the administration was also in contact with diplomats of other countries.
The death certificates were also issued to families on the spot. “Each body will be accompanied by their birthplace in an ambulance with police protection. They are also provided with grief advisors to help families cope with trauma,” he added.
When he talked about the state of the lonely survivor from 242 on board Air India, Dr. Patel said, “He’s a happy man. His condition is stable and can normally walk and talk.”
Airline expands help
The day after Air India and Chairman Tata Sons N. Chandrasecaran visited Ahmedabad, the CEO of Campbell Wilson met with the families of the deceased.
The airline also announced immediate financial support of 25 GBP for each of the deceased and survivors, except that it previously announced the amount of 1 Crore.
The Technical and Customer Support Team was at Ahmedabad’s BJ Medical College. More than 200 trained caregivers were also deployed to support each family in different ways, including access to advice.
