Ahead of India vs Pakistan, Babar Azam is mocked mercilessly by former PAK stars

February 12, 2026

Ahead of the much-anticipated India-Pakistan T20 World Cup 2026 clash, Babar Azam was mercilessly trolled by former PAK captain Rashid Latif, Mohammad Amir and Ahmed Shehzad during a talk show. Babar’s form in the shortest format of the game and his strike rate was under the scanner after the Pakistan star struggled against the Netherlands in the opening match than finding some rhythm against the US.

However, his performances against India at ICC events following his heroics in the 2021 T20 World Cup have seen Babar deal with a lot of criticism over the years. With this background, Shehzad decided to bet on a show where he sponsored a free meal for the audience if Babar played a winning match against India.

“If Babar Azam, Inshallah, wins the match against India, then the food for the whole crowd will be on me. Whatever it is – it is from my side,” Shehzad said.

The host further asked Amir what his bet would be and suggested that the former pacer should reverse his retirement if the Pakistan star won the game and batted with a strike of 160. Amir agreed to consider retiring on the condition that Babar’s score should be above 30.

Shehzad chimed in at this point and said all bets are off if Babar gets a fifty against India. This drew a direct response from Latif, who said that Babar would not even go that far during the game.

“He never fires that long anyway, so change all those bets,” Latif said.

The reply from the former Pakistan captain drew laughter from host Shehzad and Amir. The exact date of the video cannot be determined.
