Agriculture will be viable only when farmers stop selling their produce below the cost of production and start deciding the market prices of their crops, said HK Patil, Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs and Tourism.
Speaking at the Global Agri-Tech Summit 2026 in Bengaluru on Saturday, the minister said: “Markets today are not sellers but only buyers. With the use of technology and innovative farming and marketing techniques, our farmers should be able to earn well and manage their land as high yielding businesses.”
