The eyewitness said the delegation: “Aadhav Arjuna TVK went to Vijay and said that people fainted. They immediately started throwing bottles of water from the vehicle … The local administration failed … the road was 19 feet and the vehicle itself was 12 feet …”
“After the stir began, the speech ended and left. Vijay was present for 10 minutes,” the eyewitness quoted as she told the delegation.
Another eyewitness said that in just three to four minutes of the beginning of their speech, people began to be dull overfill.
Another eyewitness added: “Until 3-4 minutes after Vijay he started talking, people began to dull. It started a stir and then an ambulance arrived – that also caused a stir. We all started running.”
“It took an hour to clean everything … a few people who weren’t from here were in the crowd … Why did people push us into the ditch and not on the other side?”
Previously, the eyewitness for Karur Stampede said “nothing could be done to control the crowd” because 41 people were killed at the assembly.
Nanda Kumar said, “We were there alone. Nothing can be done to control the crowd. Vijay) said they would arrive in Karur until 11:00 and everyone was informed about it. But when he came, it was very delayed.
“It is hard to understand who is to blame. People have come to expect to arrive in time; many were accompanied by children, they were hungry or faced difficult situations. Everyone came with enthusiasm that they wanted to see the star. That’s deeply desperate.”
Kumar further stressed that “such events should be carefully planned”
Another eyewitness claimed that ambulances could not get into the area because there was not enough space. “It took a long time to get out,” he said.
The victim’s relative claimed that Vijay was to launch a rally at 9 am, but no, and “because of that was a huge crowd.”
