PUNE, May 29 (PTI) Police arrested dr. Ajay Taware, a former medical superintendent General Hospital Sassoon, and then the head of the regional authorized committee, which applies the transplantation of organs, in the alleged case of the kidney transplant missile, the officials said.
Tawe was stored in Yerwad’s central prison after last year’s arrest for alleged manipulation of blood samples of a 17 -year -old boy accused of driving a Porsche car reportedly in the unwilling state in May 2024. Two IT experts were hit after speed exceeding.

As a medical superintendent Sassoon General Hospital in Pune, TaWare was also the head of the Regional Authorization Committee, which in 2022 approved the kidney transplantation.
In May 2022, the Pune police registered the case against 15 persons, including the management of the Ruby Hall hospital and some of its employees, in connection with alleged incorrect practices related to the renal transplant.
Sarika Sutar, a resident of Kolhapur who was reportedly promised £15 Lakh, fraudulently represented as a wife AMIT Salunke, who needed a transplant, and donated the kidney in March 2022 to a young woman. The young woman’s mother donated her kidneys to Salunke.

Such a swap involving two patients and their relatives is performed when patients cannot receive kidneys from their own relatives due to disagreement of blood group or other complications.
On March 29, 2022, four days after the transplant surgery at the Ruby Hall Clinic clinic, Sutar revealed his real identity after she had a dispute over money.
The private hospital pointed out the police, which reported the incident to the Maharashtra Government Health Department. The Health Department subsequently suspended the registration of the Ruby Hall clinic for organ transplantation.
The police also arrested two mediators – Abhijit Gatne and Ravindra Rodge – who allegedly created documents to present Sarika Sutar as “Sujat Salunke”, the wife of Amit Salunke.
According to the police dr. TaWare, as the head of the Regional Permitting Committee, did not perform properly control of the transplant design.

“The role of Dr. Taware appeared after he was charged with the committee created by the state government. On Wednesday we took his link to the production order from the court and arrested him again in the case of kidney.
In finding his police custody for seven days, prosecution told the court that Dr. Tawe misused his position and approved transplantation based on counterfeit documents and fraudulent donors.
The police needed to explore suspicion of financial transactions.
Sarika Sutar, who acted as Salunke’s wife, could not make a satisfactory response during the interview conducted by the Regional Authorization Committee, headed by Dr. But Taware, but the committee approved transplantation, said prosecution.
“During Dr. Tawre’s tenure, there were nine kidney transplant swaps and the police must explore these swaps,” she said.
So far, the police have named 17 people, including Dr. Taware and the indictments were filed against seven people.
