The 18 -year -old guard reportedly ended his life, while his family members were busy on Thursday by preparing to celebrate the Dasara festival at home at the Varthur Police Station.
The deceased was identified as Ambrish Thap, a native of Nepal, who works as a guard. He lived with his brothers in a rented house.
Ambrish came a few months ago to work as a guard, but stopped working. After winning the salary for two months, he stopped going to work and was always on a mobile phone. His older brother Rahul rebuked him for not working and wasting time, which could lead him to take an extreme step, the police said.
Rahul told the police that his parents, who are in their hometown, wanted to see how Ambrish, their younger child and Rahul asked to return. But Ambrish refused to go and spent most of his time on his mobile phone and playing games on it. Reportedly he tried to end his life a few days after the argument with his family members in the same problem.
The addiction on the phone grew concerns between migrant workers who are wasting time watching winters on their phones, leading to family disputes. Young adults and even children in the colonies of migrants are dependent on phones and stopped going to work and school, said R. Kaleemulh, a social worker in the city.
He also urged the authorities in question to do something with a de-event on a mobile phone, which represents a threat to families and youth in mind.
