After the collapse of the ceiling, the CEO of ZP asks for a report on the condition of school and college buildings in Kalaburagi

Following the recent incident of ceiling plaster collapse in a school building in Kalaburagi district on June 14, Zilla Panchayat CEO Rahul Sankanur presided over a review meeting in Kalaburagi on June 15.

Officials from Zilla Panchayat, Education Department, Panchayat Raj Department, Karnataka Rural Infrastructure Development Limited (KRIDL) and Public Works Department attended the meeting.

Mr. Sankanur directed the Block Education Officers and Assistant Executive Engineers of all taluks to jointly inspect the government school buildings in their respective jurisdictions and submit a consolidated report on their condition as soon as possible.

The officer directed the deputy directors of school education and pre-university education departments to supervise and prepare a list of schools requiring minor repairs as well as those requiring major renovation and submit proposals as soon as possible.

He directed the officials to take precautionary measures to avoid any unusual incident in the coming days and ensure the safety of the students in the school premises.
