After announcing his retirement from the Premier League, Indian spin-bowling, the great Ravichandran Ashwin reportedly continued his sequel to his career in the franchise cricker around the world.
According to Telegraph Sport, one hundred England could be his other big goal, with the release of 2026 expected to have his name.
Ashwin’s announcement was a surprise For many, especially in the middle of continuing rumors about a possible business agreement in which the veteran off-spinner was inclined as the use of weight. Instead, a 37 -year -old man took the social media to announce his retirement from IPL, and at the same time revealed that he intends to explore opportunities in overseas franchise leagues.
The cricket control council in India (BCCI) maintains a strict policy that prohibits active domestic crickets to play in overseas leagues. This means that Ashwin should only be eligible after leaving IPL. The precedent was recently set by colleague Tamil over Cricter Dinesh Karthik, who after leaving IPL in 2024 showed for Paarl Royals in SA20 during the 2025 season.
What Ashwin’s potential movement is interesting is the overlap of ownership between IPL and hundreds of franchises. Almost half of the hundreds of hundreds are either partially or fully owned by Indian groups already operating the IPL parties that could open the door for a smooth crossing for Ashwin to the league.
WITH 765 International Goals across FormatsAshwin’s experience and position could provide the STEM much needed support in both competitiveness and global viewers. Its presence could also increase the tournament profile because it seems to expand its audience and question the dominance of IPL.
However, Ashwin has not yet confirmed his participation and it remains to find out whether his services will provide his services. The highest salary console in hundreds is set to 200,000 (approximately 2.35 crore rupees), which is a number well in the range for Ashwin’s caliber.
If the agreement took place, it would mean another chapter in the career of one of the most decorated Indian spinners.
