Imphal, the capital of manipure, descended on Sunday (May 25, 2025) to chaos because people protested against the “undercut” of the state’s identity that clashed with security staff during the march to Raj Bhavan.

The abrasions with safety staff followed Saturday (May 24, 2025) calling the Coordination Committee for the Integrity of Manipur (COCOMI), an umbrella body of the Meitei organization to participate in the Civic Disability and Boycott of Governor Ajay Kumar Bhally. Five protesters were reportedly injured and hospitalized.
Governor has been a manipuro administrator since the President’s rule was stored on February 13 after Nonghombam Biren Singh resigned as the main minister.
Cocomi was a cross with Mr. Bhalla for apologizing for the incident in Gwaltabi, about 25 km from Imphal, where the security staff reportedly created a team of journalists and information officials masking “manipur state transport”, where he was on May 20 to cover Shiri Lily.

The organization also said that the seven -member delegation of its members would leave on Monday 26 May 2025) to Nový Dilli to organize the next day with the Ministry of the Interior of the Union. The meeting is trying to initiate the subsequent measures on the resolution adopted during the folk Convention of Manipur, which took place on May 3 in Imphal, on the second anniversary of the ethnic conflict.
Cocomi said that the agenda for the meeting would also include a “public apology from the governor for the perceived insult to the people of manipure”, resignation or immediate transfer of the Chief Secretary, CEO and security advisor, and “everyone is considered incompetent and responsible for the decision on the anti -state situation”.
