Days after the start of taxis by bicycle in Karnataka, the municipal traffic police intensified their interventions against the autorickshaw drivers violating rules, including overcharging, rejection of Přelička and lack of proper documentation.
This step comes with growing complaints of commuting and efforts to streamline public transport services after the curb on taxis by bike. In two days, 1,000 cases against the ERANT Auto were reserved for drivers who found that they were violating the rules, said MN Anucheth, a joint police commissioner.
According to him, the special drive will continue for another two weeks to ensure the discipline among drivers.
Special teams were created in all traffic divisions approaching Auto -Muftti drivers as customers. “From the prohibition, the Authorickshaw drivers who complained about not getting customers, they behave in a steadfast way and demand excess fares and refuse to continue renting,” the policeman said.
Repeated perpetrators will be dealt with seriously and their licenses will be confiscated, the police added.
On Sunday, the police booked 84 drivers for not carrying a uniform, 52 for billing excess tariffs and 44 for rejecting the layer. The police also booked more than 200 drivers for violating parking and another 680 for further violations.
Meanwhile, the Karnataka State Private Transport Association filed a complaint against the Taxi wheel protest on Saturday.
In a complaint to the police of Vishan Juda, President of the Association S. Nataraja Sharma claimed that the protest organized against the ban was without authorities and described it as illegal.
