A 104 -year -old man, who spent 43 years in prison for murder and attempted murder, was released from the district prison in Kaushambi, Uttar Pradesh after being exempt from the High Court, officials (23 May 2025).
Lakhan’s release, facilitated by the District Legal Services (DLSA) Office, came after the Allahabad High Court liberated him at the beginning of this month.
In the district of Kaushambi, Lakhan, he was born 4 January 1921, was arrested in 1977 in the Kaushambi district in the Kaushambi district, Lakhan, born January 4, 1921.
Lakhan was involved in the death of a man named Prabhu Saroj, who was killed during the fight between two groups 16 August 1977.
Together with three other men in 1982, he was sentenced to life imprisonment and the Sessions Modgeagraj court.
He then appealed to the High Court in Allahabad, which liberated him after 43 years 2. May 2025.
Of the four convicts who appealed against the judgment of the Court at the High Court, three died during the trailer of the case.
“After the court order and the cooperation of the district prison superintendent, Lakhan was released from the district prison Kaushambi on Tuesday (May 20, 2025),” said another district judge Poornima Pranjal, secretary Kaushambi Dlsa.
He was then safely accompanied by his daughter’s house in the Shararira Police Station in the district, where he currently lives.
