Twenty -five years are not a small period of time in their lifetime; Even more in the career of a government official with a service of 34 years.
That is how long L. Laila, 69, the former assistant director of the agricultural department of Keraral, had to wait for justice and be cleaned of a “corrupt” brand that changed her life and career into one running nightmare. When Special Vigilance Court, Muvatttupuzha, he laid the accusation of corruption and counterfeiting on May 25, 2025, a quarter of a century later, it looked more like a legal maximum, justice is delayed by justice that was taught hard.
“Of course I was relieved, but it does not compensate for all the humiliation and mental anxiety that I had to go through and which I would not survive without my husband’s support,” says Mrs. Laila, sitting in her house in Piravom.
It was reserved according to the Corruption and IPC Prevention Act for counterfeiting and falsifying accounts for alleged abuse of 3.47 GBP Lakh, while serving as an assistant to agriculture, Piravom, since 1993 it returned later in 2000, when it was fulfilled. Not only was the promotion denied, but was degraded as an agriculture officer, a post in which she started her service in 1978.
This was followed by a prolonged period of court dispute, initially with the Commissioner and the Special Judge Thrissur and then before the Vigilance Special Court, Muvattupuzha. The point is that it has misused the funds assigned to the distribution of eight Krishi Bhavans under its jurisdiction by transferring them to a bank account on behalf of the auxiliary agricultural director Piravom.
“The elections were around the corner, and there was a direction that ensured that it did not represent the allocation of funds for important projects. I transferred the funds to a bank account to avoid the potential ban on the treasury. The funds were eventually transferred to all Krishi Bhavans,” says Laila.
The case was further examined by the vigilance and anti -corruption office (VACB). The additional final report filed before court 28. September 2024 liberated Mrs. Lail to cause any loss of the Treasury. It’s been 12 years since she retired when she came pure Chit, and her two children, who were school children when her suffering began, now settled with good work because their mother finally stood confirmed.
In the shop, Mrs. Laila lost two promotions, as a deputy director and a joint director, and related benefits in the value of scraping in salary, increment and pension benefits. She has already written to the Ministry of Agriculture, which demanded the restoration of imaginary promotion and related benefits.
If this application is rejected, another round of court proceedings will solidify.
