
Afghanistan announced his 22-member pre-team for the Asia Cup 2025, which is to be held in SAE from 9 to 28 September and Tri-Series, including Pakistan and host UAE. The last 15-member group will be selected after a two-week training camp based on performance and fitness.
The key highlight of the group is the return of the promising young spinner am Ghazanfar, which after recovery from the fracture of the L4 vertebra created a strong return to a competitive cricket. Ghazanfar, who has been out of action for several months, returned to the home cricket with impressive performances.
In the 2025 T20 explosion, he appeared as the highest goal of Derbyshire, raised 16 goals in 14 matches, while maintaining an excellent economic rate of 7.05. One of his standout performances came against Yorkshire in Headingley, where he returned remarkable figures of 4-2-5-2-one of the most economical magic in the tournament history.

“We announced a preliminary team for the preparatory camp before the Tri-RaTion and Asia Cup series, where the newly disturbed boys checked both coaching staff and captain during training and preparation,” said Mir Mubariz, member of the ACB selection, Cricubuz.
Afghanistan is located in Group B together with Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Hong Kong. In Abu Dhabi, the Asia Cup campaign against Hong Kong will start, followed by matches against Bangladesh on September 16 and Sri Lanka 18 September. With a roning group and a combination of youth and experience, Afghanistan will try to make a strong impression in their offer on the title Maiden Asia Cup.
