
Mumbai Indians had a light moment in their IPL 2026 preparations as captain Hardik Pandya and his teammates celebrated Afghanistan’s Allah Ghazanfar’s birthday during the training camp.The celebration took place during training, where the players and support staff came together to mark the occasion. Ghazanfar, a young spinner, is part of the MI squad for IPL 2026 and is yet to make his debut in the league.Earlier in the week, a player from Afghanistan spoke about the airstrike that hit a rehabilitation center in Kabul. He highlighted the impact of tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan and focused on the impact on civilians.

Afghan government deputy spokesman Hamdullah Fitrat said the strike hit a drug rehabilitation hospital and damaged large parts of the 2,000-bed facility. Pakistan has denied the allegations.Ghazanfar highlighted the importance of the facility, stressing that it provides vital support to the vulnerable groups of the society. “People there don’t have money for treatment,” Ghazanfar told CNN News18. “And now they have targeted that place as well; they have tortured those people. This is not acceptable to the people of Afghanistan.” He strongly condemned the attack and also questioned the intention of such military actions. “I don’t know what they’re trying to prove. They’re coming and targeting ordinary people and we just can’t accept that. Afghanistan can’t accept that,” he said in an interview. “Everyone knows the history of Afghanistan,” he warned. “If this history repeats itself, it will be very bad for Pakistan.The spinner is yet to make his IPL debut and has so far featured in 20 matches for Afghanistan, taking 29 wickets across formats.
