Adobe publishes generated videos in beta
Generating video is the company’s first end-to-end video generation tool powered by AI. It supports text prompts and images as inputs and can generate 1080p resolution video in the form of 24 frames per second. Adobe said in a newsroom post that the tool provides users with granular control by allowing users to specify camera angles, motion, shooting distances, art styles and other photography details. Currently, it can generate five seconds of video.
Users will also be able to make technically complex requests, such as locking the first and last frames of the shot to maintain continuity, keeping color and character details consistent, and so on. Adobe said the company will soon add a low-resolution concept model and 4K model for 4K production engineering. Currently, companies such as Pepsico, Stagwell and Dentsu are using Generate Video as real-world applications.
The Firefly Web App was launched in 2023 and has now been redesigned. The purpose of the platform is to use to generate AI tools for Adobe, and the new user interface now makes it easier to find different tools than before. In addition, the technology giant integrates the platform with Creative Cloud applications including Photoshop, Premiere Pro and more. Adobe claims that the Firefly AI model has been trained on public domain and datasets of licensed content to make it “friendly” and safely use commercial usage.
In addition, the tech giant has released two other tools – scenes to image and translate videos/translate videos – to the Firefly platform. Unlike generated videos, these videos are not used for free. The former generates “professional quality” images based on 3D sketches and reference shapes, and even allows users to change the angles and perspectives of the 3D image for perfect output. The latter will allow users to convert audio files and audio channels in videos to over 20 languages. Adobe says the tool will retain the original sound of the speakers.
Additionally, the company has launched two new Firefly subscription plans. The Firefly Standard is priced at $9.99 per month and offers 2,000 video and audio credits, as well as up to 20 videos. The Firefly Pro subscription offers 7,000 points and up to 70 videos for $29.99 per month.
