The administrative stalemate situation at Keral University does not show any signs of resolutions, despite the attempts to mediate various neighborhoods, including the Minister of Higher Education, R. Bindu.
Vice -Chairman for Vice -President Mohanan Kunnummal has to convene a syndicate meeting, as required by members of the Syndicate with left -wing interest. In addition, the tension continued to escalate after a disciplinary proceedings against the common registrar P. Harikumar two days ago, which is worried about the derailment of the ongoing efforts to achieve consensus.
Dr. Kunnummal issued Mr. Harikumar a notice of the show of an official order that canceled the suspension of the KS Anil Kumar registrar and then orbited a directive across the university departments. The Vice -President claimed that the Syndicate decision to select the registrar’s suspension is legal. Mr. Harikumar got 15 days to respond to the announcement.
The section of the Syndicate members accused the vice -chairman that he had intentionally stopped the Syndicate meeting to avoid control. They say that such meetings must be organized university regulations in order for such meetings to be organized at least once every 60 days. After the last meeting held on May 27, the deadline for the next meeting on July 27. They provided a formal request to convene a meeting 18 July.
Meanwhile, Raj Bhavan convened the director (planning and development) Mini Dejo Kappen, who was assigned another registrar fee to provide details on the controversy of assigning Grace Mark on last year’s Youth University festival in Kerala University.
Dr. Kappen was ordered to appear in front of Governor 26 July and introduce the score and other related documents submitted by the Festival’s court panel.
Governor, as Chancellor of the University, was appointed an opponent in the court proceedings submitted by a group of students, which required to submit an affidavit.
This question arose after the vice -chairman refused to approve the decision of the festival organizers to declare more groups as a winner in some group events. This approach was reportedly accepted to expand the benefits of Grace Mark to a larger number of students.
Various quarters interpret the profession of Governor Dr. Kappen as the silent recognition of the legitimacy of the suspension of Dr. Kumara.
