Adani New Industries Limited on Monday announced that it commissioned the first Indian 5 MW green hydrogen pilot power plant in Kutch, Gujarat, which intends to achieve the objective of the national transition to clean energy.
Off -grid green hydrogen pilot produces green hydrogen, which is produced by distributing water by electricity from renewable sources. The device works without reliance on a public electricity network, especially in distant areas where traditional network energy is not available or less reliable.
A new paradigm in the production of hydrogen with renewable sources
The plant is fully powered by solar energy and works with a battery power storage system that allows it to function completely outside the net. “This is a new paradigm in decentralized hydrogen -powered hydrogen production,” the company’s press release said.
The Anil pilot plant is 5 MW of a green hydrogen device with a fully automated and controlled electrolyse system that is designed to respond to renewable energy inputs in real time.
This provision, also known as a closed loop system, helps in the flexibility of operation, especially in the solution of the changing nature of solar energy, while ensuring efficiency, safety and performance, according to the company.
A project to help strengthen energy
self -sufficiency
The aim of the project is to support the ambitions of India to become a global center for green hydrogen production and to determine the scale of industrial applications with renewable sources across sectors, where it is particularly difficult to reduce carbon emissions. Sectors in focus very much depend on fossil fuels for their operations.
Green hydrogen is expected to play a role in decarbonizing sectors such as fertilizers, refining and heavy transport and to achieve global goals of pure zero.
The pilot race also serves as the beginning of the upcoming green hydrogen center Anila in Mundra in Gujarat, a project that promises to contribute to the low -carbon future of India.
The initiative is in line with the national mission for green hydrogen missions (NGHM), the flagship of the Indian program to reduce important dependence, improve energy self -sufficiency and increase the decarbonization of energy -intensive industries, all in fulfilling Indian Atmanirbhara.
