Adalat for Mundakkai-Chooralmala landslide victims from June 8
An adalat will be held from June 8 to June 11 at the Wayanad district round conference hall to directly hear the beneficiaries regarding the write-off of bank loans of the victims of the Mundakkai-Chooralmala landslide disaster.
Officials said the adalat was organized as part of the process of writing off the loans of those officially recognized and notified by the government as victims of the disaster.
Loans taken by beneficiaries listed in Phase I, Phase II-A and Phase II-B as well as loans of persons who died in the disaster will be considered. In case participants cannot attend the camp in person, other family members participating in the camp should bring their details.
On Monday (June 8), beneficiaries listed from sequence numbers 1 to 100 on the Phase I beneficiary list will be interviewed. The recipients in the remaining categories will be interviewed in the following days. Victims of the disaster have been asked to bring all available documents related to bank loans outstanding as of July 30, 2024, including loan statements and passbooks.
In the case of deceased persons, the details of their loans should be provided by the surviving next of kin. Adalat participants should bring available documents such as a copy of their Aadhaar card or any other identity proof, copy of ration card, copy of passbook of loan account, authorization letter from borrower allowing to attend adalat and documents of legal heir in case of deceased persons, the Deputy Collector in charge of disaster management said.
