
Case of gold smuggling: On Tuesday, the Court of Economic crimes in Bengalur awarded the starting bail to the actress Kannada Ranya Ranya and co -opened Tarun Kondaraju in connection with the case of gold smuggling. However, the actress is likely to remain in custody according to the strict law against the smuggler.

The court also imposed strict conditions – they cannot leave the country and must not commit a similar crime.

Ranya’s lawyer, BS Girish, claimed that the actress would not be released, even if she got a bail, because the case of the strict preservation of foreign exchange and the prevention of smuggling activities (Cofeposa) of 1974 was registered against her.
Strict accusations were used after the accusation has made several attempts to secure bail.
The authorities stated that it was necessary to prevent it from restoring illegal activities and citing its lack of cooperation during the investigation.
Ranya Rao, the stepmother of the leading police officer to Ramchandra Rao, was arrested on 3 March for alleged smuggling 14.2 kilograms of gold worth above £12.56 crore.
The Karnataka government created a special team led by IAS officer to probate the potential involvement of DGP Ramchandra Rao in the smuggling missile.
Currently, he is filed in the central prison of Bengalur, along with two others – Tarun Raju and Útělil Sakaria Jain – who were also reserved under the Cofepos Act.
The case is investigated jointly by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) and CBI.
Ranya Rao challenges the legality of customs search
Last month, Ranya Rao told the Karnataka High Court that the search and seizure of the intelligence information (DRI) had violated the provisions of the Customs Act.
Senior advocate Sandesh J, representing the ranya, claimed that the search was carried out in violation of section 102 of the Customs Act, which orders each searched person to be taken in front of a judge or a customs officer. The appetite told the court that the reasons for the arrest were not formally communicated to Ranya’s family members in writing, as required by law.

The actress was arrested at the International KEPEGOWDA Airport in Bengalur after the authorities confiscated gold bars worth £12.56 crore from its possession.
The following raid into her residence led to recovery of gold jewelry £2.06 crore and £2.67 crore in cash.
