
Veteran theater actor and comedian Raju Talikote died after they had suffered a heart attack in the Udupi district. According to PTI, he was in the city for film filming.
On Sunday (12th-13th October) the night around 1:30 in the morning was admitted to the Kasturba hospital. Doctors performed emergency angioplasty. Despite their efforts he died in the evening.
His latest ceremonies will be held in Chikka Sindagi in the district of Vijayapura.
Talikote, known for his comic timing, has played in several games and films from North Karnataka, including Kaliyugada Kuduka.
Talikote started playing at the age of 7 in his father’s theater group Sri Khangateshwar Natya Sangha. He worked in the face of his mother’s financial struggle and illness in hotels and as a truck cleaner to support his family.
His big break came with Talikotakar Nataka, where he played sumitra (Kivuda). Later he played in recognized games such as Disalunki, Hoovina Angadi, Hasira Bale and bus conductor.
Since 1984 he has worked with prominent theater groups such as Sri Sharif Shivayogi Vijaya Naty Sangha and Sri Hucheshwar Naty Sangha.
He performed alongside his wife Prema Talikote. Raja, known for his comic timing and emotional depth, soon became a beloved character in the theater scene in Karnataka.
He took part in the 7 Bigg Kannada season, organized by actor Kichcha Sudeep. Was evicted on day 63.
