Actor Kannada Darshan Thogudeep and actress Pavitho Gowd were arrested on Thursday after the Supreme Court canceled the bail in the case of the murder of Renukaswama.
Darshan was arrested at the house of his wife Vijayalakshmi in Hosakehalli, Bengalur. The actor wanted to avoid arrests and surrender in court, but the police got information about his stay and arrested him, reported the PTI, which quoted the sources.
SC noted that people, regardless of popularity, are the same before the law.
He ordered the authorities to immediately take Darshan and other accused into custody and order the court to be made quickly.
The Bench of the Supreme Court of Justices JB Pardiwala and R Mahadevan canceled the temporary bail awarded by Darshan’s High Court in Karnataka and said that the deposit was granted without reasonable consideration of intimidation of witnesses and other illegality.
The Government of Karnatak has shifted the Supreme Court against Darshan’s order for bail.
In response to Thursday’s order defense champion DL Chidananda, representing the State Government, he stated that SC stated that the decision of Karnataka HC does not apply to the principles of bail.
Chidananda also said: “The Supreme Court stated that the High Court did not apply to the legal principles asking for bail. It also reiterated that the rule of law in the country prevails and, however, an influential individual may be, must be treated in accordance with the law.”
Pavitho Gowda, the main accused in the case of the murder of Renukaswama, was arrested from her house soon after the report broke that the deposit of all accused in the case of murder was canceled according to the press agency, according to police sources.
Meanwhile, the legal advisor to the Chief Minister of Karnatak as Ponnan said that the granting of Darshan’s deposit would be hindered by the investigation and the court.
He said, “The state government and the prosecutor’s office were confirmed … It was the state government’s decision that in such a case, where a serious crime was registered, it would give him a bail to stop the investigation and the court because he was a powerful person.
According to media reports, 33 -year -old Renukaswamy, a fan of actor Darshan, allegedly sent Gowda an obscene news that dressed Darshan, allegedly led to his murder.
