
With regard to the threat that trees represent in various places in public safety, the Kottayam district is ready to introduce a set of instructions for solving technical obstacles in removing dangerous trees.
The District Collector Chetan Kumar Meena, who was involved in demand during the meeting of the District Development Committee, said that the session would soon be convened to create instructions and accelerate the removal process.
During the Saturday meeting, the Whip Boss N. Jayaraj stressed that the trees uprooted by heavy rains were the main challenge, causing extensive damage throughout the district. The joint director of the local government department confirmed that the necessary measures are taking place to remove dangerous trees along the roads under the jurisdiction of the local body.
The District Secretary of Panchayat, the Conlector of the Tree Committee in Kottayam, said that 118 applications were received to remove dangerous trees in public areas. A permission to restrict 344 trees and the removal of 96 trees were awarded.
In the meantime, Changanassery Mla Maichil, in the meantime called for a faster action to remove trees sorted on both sides of Changanassery Bypass Road and noted that gentle overpass procedures have already been completed in the section. He also called on the administration to speed up the pipeline work before the reconstruction activities on the Changanassery-Kaviyoor road.
