Immending deep into Indian prospects in the world economy, director of the Indian Institute of Management, Nagpur, Bhimaraya Metri said India would reach its peak by 2040 and remain in the highest position to lead the world for another 25 years.
“The world looks at India, which moves rapidly with 7.1%with an annual GDP growth. With approximately 17 billion UPI payments, the country is at the peak of digital transactions. It has a massive demographic dividend.
The event was organized by the Ministry of Trade, School of Business Studies, at Central University, in cooperation with the southern regional center of the Indian Social Research Council.
Later in the plenary meeting, Mr. Metri also continued to analyze factors that will help the country reach the highest position in the world with a solid base of the young population.
“India is a young country with 1.4 billion populations. The average age of the population is 28 years compared to 38 years in the United States, 40 years in Canada and 37 years in European countries. The United States is marching from extraordinary country to the ordinary country. Europe is already in the past.
Mr. Metri said Japan led the world between 1965 and 1980 by occupying the world market in electronics and other consumer goods followed by Korea and Singapore, which dominated the global market between 1980 and 2000.
