The Minister of the Union Amit Shah on Wednesday (August 20, 2025) introduced three accounts in Lok Sabha for the removal of the Prime Minister, the main ministers arrested for serious criminal charges for 30 days, providing sharp protests against the opposition because the draft laws was referred to parliament.

Lok Sabha witnessed throw -in and sharp exchanges between a member of the Congress of KC Venugopal and Minister of Home AMIT Shah during the introduction of accounts.
Mr. Shah moved three accounts that allow the removal of elected representatives, including the Prime Minister and the main minister, after being arrested or detained for serious criminal charges.
The Committee was entrusted to submit its report to the house until the last day of the first week of the next meeting. Another meeting (winter meeting) of parliament will probably be convened in the third week of November.
Opposite the laws, Mr. Venugopal, the BJP questioned that the bills were brought to ensure morality, and pointed out that Mr., Shah was also arrested when he was home to Gujarat.
“I was framed in fictional cases, but I resigned before I was arrested,” Mr. Shah replied.
Previously, several opposition members opposed the bill, including Manish Tewari from Congress and Dharndra Yadav by Samajwadi.
What are the accounts about?
The laws say that the Prime Minister, the chief ministers, the ministers and the territories of trade unions who are arrested and detained in custody for 30 consecutive days for accusing the crime of imprisonment for five years or more.
Accounts say they could be re -appointed when released from custody.
The declaration of the subjects and reasons for the bill sent by Mr. Shah, which sent Lok Sabha members on Tuesday, said:
He stated that the minister who faces accusations of serious crimes was arrested and detained in custody may thwart or defend the canons of constitutional morality and the principles of good administration of public affairs and eventually reduce the constitutional confidence that people imposed in it.
