Accountant chief accountant caught accepting ₹13,000 bribe in Lokayukta trap

Officials of the Karnataka Lokayukta Police nabbed and arrested an accountant attached to the Accountant General’s Office in Bengaluru when they allegedly accepted a bribe of ₹13,000 from a complainant on Thursday.

The accused has been identified as Adarsha Kumar Singh, an accountant from the Accountant General’s Office at Park House Road, Ambedkar Veedhi, Bengaluru.

According to Lokayukta officials, the complainant, N. Ramesh of Peenya, had approached the agency alleging that the accused had demanded a bribe to facilitate the release of ₹13.90 lakh, which had been deposited under a court order.

Based on the complaint, the Lokayukta police registered a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. During the investigation, the accused allegedly demanded ₹16,000 and later agreed to accept ₹13,000. The trap was laid under the supervision of Shiva Prakash Devaraju, Superintendent of Police, Karnataka Lokayukta, Bengaluru City-1. The accused was caught red-handed allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹13,000.
