District judge and chairman of the permanent Lok Adalat (PLA) SN Chavhan called on citizens to access PL with their basic complaints of public service on Saturday to get a quick and friendly resolution without fear or delay.
When Kalaburagi Plagagi focused on a press conference on the district court, he said that he solved the highest number of cases among the five permanent LoDs in the state. “Cases concerning public services in value to Crore 1 can be filed without any court fees,” he said.
“Kalaburagagi PLA was founded in 2007 and since 2024 it has constantly eliminated approximately 240 to 250 cases each month. Citizens have been invited to apply for quick and available justice,” he said.
The judge added that PLA dealt with a wide range of questions in the public service category, including road transport, water supply, air transport, telecommunications, electricity, insurance, education, real estate transactions, banking loans, postal services and school/college. He also added problems related to general services such as waste disposal, he added.
“Applicants must submit the required documents together with the details of the department or agency involved in the dispute. After preliminary verification, it sends the plants to the affected parties, which facilitates the settlement based on a compromise through mutual understanding,” he said.
According to the information provided by the bench, the judge includes the district seat judge as chairman and two members of the defense counsel and the structure ensures that public interest cases are more effectively resolved through reconciliation rather than prolonged court proceedings.
He was present by the head of the civic judge and a member of the district of the legal services, Srinivas Navale.
