
The TELANGANA (ACB) Anti -Corruption Office has issued a public warning after the news has appeared that individuals calling in the name of ACB officials and trying to extract money from civil servants. Caller threatens government employees in false cases unless bribes are paid.
In one such incident reported on August 5, a complaint was filed at the ABIDS police station in Hyderabad, which made ACB to release official clarification. The CEO of ACB said that no official from the Bureau would ever call civil servants who would require money to avoid the registration of cases. Citizens and government employees were warned against such fraudulent calls or by making any payments.
The victims are invited to turn to the free ACB line with an unconditional line 1064 or inform about the local police station. ACB also pointed out that it can be achieved through social media platforms such as WhatsApp (9440446106), Facebook (Telangana ACB) and X to @telanganaacb. The authorities assured that the identity and details of the complainants would be confidential.
