ACB registers suspended Warangal sub-registrar in disproportionate assets case

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has registered a case of disproportionate assets against a suspended sub-registrar in Hanamkonda after searches revealed properties, cash, bank deposits, gold and other assets worth nearly ₹1.94 crore.

According to ACB, a case has been registered against Davuluri Anand, Sub-Registrar-II at Sub-Registrar Office, Warangal (RO), Hanamkonda, which is currently under suspension.

The ACB conducted surprise searches at the official’s residence and other premises associated with his relatives on Wednesday. During the searches, the investigators identified two residential houses worth ₹71.56 crore and six open plots worth ₹28.37 crore. Officials said the market value of the properties is expected to be significantly higher than the officially recorded value.

Apart from immovable property, the searches also led to the seizure of movable assets, including cash of ₹24.50 crore, bank balances totaling ₹7.05 crore, household items worth ₹6.07 crore and vehicles worth ₹13.25 crore.

The agency also found gold ornaments weighing 819.5 grams and silver ornaments weighing 2,264.5 grams, together worth ₹43.16 lakh.

According to the ACB, the total value of the assets identified so far is ₹1.94 crore. Further verification is underway to determine whether additional assets exist and to determine the extent of disproportionate assets, if any.
