The Anti-Corruption Bureau has registered a case of disproportionate assets against Marri Vamshi Mohan, Special Grade Deputy Collector at City Ceiling Wing in Medchal-Malkajgiri District Collector’s office, on charges of acquiring assets beyond known sources of income through corrupt practices.

Officials raided his residence, office and 11 other locations linked to his relatives, associates and alleged beni on Friday (May 22).

During the searches, the ACB discovered assets worth around ₹ 6.22 crore.

The seized assets reportedly include 19 open plots worth ₹4.46 crore, an independent house in an NGO colony in Vanasthalipuram, two flats in Manikonda and Masjid Banda with a combined value of ₹1.12 crore and a farm spread over two acres in Narrepally worth ₹10 lakh in Ibrahimpat.

Officials said the market value of the properties is likely to be significantly higher than the officially recorded value.

The ACB also found ₹2.10 lakh in cash, bank balances of ₹20 lakh, gold ornaments weighing about 122 grams and two vehicles worth about ₹32 lakh.

Investigators further identified a suspicious land transaction involving eight acres of agricultural land in Piglipur village of Abdullapurmet mandal in Rangareddy district, allegedly purchased in 2023 in the name of the officer’s father-in-law Vijay Bhasker.

The accused officer was arrested and produced before the Special Court for SPE and ACB cases in Hyderabad for judicial custody.
