
Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials arrested Junior Assistant Duty Officer Gram Paalan while accepting bribe at Quthbullapur Tahsil office in Medchal-Malkajgiri district.
Accused G. Ganesh, a village revenue officer, was booked by the ACB City Range I on Monday (March 2) when he allegedly demanded ₹20,000 from the complainant for processing and issuing a family member’s certificate. He was caught accepting ₹15,000, after earlier collecting ₹5,000 in cash as an initial payment.
ACB officials said a tainted amount of ₹15,000 was recovered from his possession. The officer allegedly acted dishonestly to gain an undue advantage. He is produced before the I Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases at Nampally for judicial remand. The identity of the complainant has been withheld for security reasons. The case is under investigation.
The ACB has urged the public to report any demand for bribes by public servants through its toll-free number 1064. Complaints can also be lodged through its official social media platforms and officials said the identity of the complainants will be kept confidential.
