The NEET-UG 2026 exam has been canceled due to alleged paper leaks and irregularities. A ‘guess paper’ with questions similar to the actual exam has been traced back to a medical student in Rajasthan, pointing to a multi-state paper leak network.
Shubham Khairnar, a BAMS student from Nashik, Maharashtra, has been arrested in connection with the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak. Reports suggest that he bought an ‘estimation paper’ for ₹10,000 and sold it to aspirants for ₹15,00,000.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has taken over the investigation into the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak. The Rajasthan SOG and the Nashik Police have also been involved in the arrest of those linked to the leak.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has not yet announced the exact dates for the re-examination of the canceled NEET-UG 2026. However, they are trying to conduct it as soon as possible to avoid disruption to the academic calendar.

Citing the example of Nepal and Bangladesh’s Gen-Z protest that brought down the government of KP Oli and Sheikh Hasina, Kejriwal said, “If Gen-Z of Nepal and Bangladesh can take to the streets and change their governments, then can’t our Gen-Z send the ministers involved in the paper leak incidents to jail? I have full faith in you.”

Youth-led protests – largely led by Generation Z – took place in Nepal between 8 and 13 September 2025, with effects lasting until 2026. The unrest was sparked by a government ban on major social media platforms such as YouTube, Facebook and WhatsApp, which many saw as an attempt to stifle criticism.
The movement eventually led to major political changes, including the fall of the government, the creation of an interim administration and the calling of new elections, along with increased youth participation in politics.
NEET-UG 2026 Paper Case
A “guess paper” containing questions similar to those asked in the NEET-UG 2026 medical entrance exam has been traced back to a medical student from Sikar in Rajasthan who is currently pursuing MBBS in Kerala, according to a senior official from the Special Operations Group (SOG), PTI reported.
Inspector General Ajay Pal Lamba said the student initially received the material from a friend and later shared it with his acquaintances and a hostel owner in Sikar.
The document was then circulated further, reaching the coaching students and eventually circulated among the candidates in Jaipur and nearby areas ahead of the examination which was held on 3rd May.

During questioning, they provided information about other people who were sent the tip paper. Later, the operator of the shop was also detained from where some students got the prints of the estimate papers, PTI reported.
The scope of the investigation was widened and more than 150 people were interviewed, including students, parents and others. The paper leak is suspected to have taken place from Nashik, sources told PTI.
“Nashik police have arrested the men based on information from the Rajasthan SOG. Another lead and the network of the paper leakage mafia are being investigated in detail,” SOG sources said.
