Abhobilam temple photographer won a national award

Prasad Uppala, the official (Asthana) photographer of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Devasthanam, Ahobilam, won the ‘Best Picture of the Year’ award and the Gold Medal in the 2026 National Photography Competition on the theme ‘My India: 80 Years of Democracy and Freedom’.

The competition was organized by the Photography Academy of India (PAI) in collaboration with the Andhra Pradesh State Commission for Creativity and Culture and the Government of Andhra Pradesh. The results of the competition were announced on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Prasad expressed his happiness at winning the award and attributed his success to Ahobile Narasimha Swamy and the 46th Peethadhipathi Sri Ahobila Math. He also thanked the jury and PAI Chairman Thamma Srinivas Reddy.
