
Abhishek Sharma produced a sensational innings in IPL 2026 and smashed a match-defining century against Delhi Capitals at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Tuesday, further underlining his rapid rise as one of the most explosive young batsmen in world cricket.
He reached his fifty in just 25 balls and set the tone early with aggressive intent and fearless stroke play that immediately put the opposition under pressure.

After settling in, Abhishek accelerated in brutal fashion to get his hundred in just 47 balls. His innings was built around clean hitting, smart shot selection and relentless attacking intent as he dominated both pace and spin with ease. He first shared a 97-run opening stand with Travis Head, laying a strong platform for the innings.
After Head’s dismissal, Abhishek combined with Ishan Kishan and they added another 79 runs for the second wicket, keeping the pace going through the middle overs. He eventually finished unbeaten on 135 off 68 balls, hitting 10 fours and as many sixes, powering Sunrisers Hyderabad to an impressive 242 for two.
In response, Sunrisers restricted the Capitals to 195 for nine, handed SRH a comprehensive victory by 47 runs. With their third win in a row, SRH climbed to third in the points table with eight points and a net rate of +0.820.
