
Abhishek Sharma and Smriti Mandhana have been named the ICC and ICC Players of the Month for September 2025 after outstanding performances in the Asia Cup T20I and home ODI series against Australia. Both have excelled for India and earned the award through global fan voting and a panel of former cricketers and media representatives.
Abhishek Sharma has scored 314 runs in seven matches in the Asia Cup T20I campaignat an average of 44.85 with a success rate of 200. His consistency led to him being named Player of the Tournament and scoring 931 points in the ICC Men’s T20I Batting Rankings, the highest ever at the end of Super Fours. Sharma beat Kuldeep Yadav and Brian Bennett for the monthly honour.

Mandhana’s golden run against Australia
Smriti Mandhana put in strong performances in the home ODI series against Australia, scoring 58, 117 and 125 in three consecutive matches. She amassed 308 runs in four ODIs at an average of 77 and a strike rate of 135.68. Mandhana created a new Indian record by reaching 100 runs in just 50 balls during the third ODI. Her efforts beat out award contenders Tazmin Brits and Sidra Amin.
