Abhijeet Dipke writes letter from CJP to PM Modi, seeks ₹1 million to help relatives of NEET aspirants who died by suicide

Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke on Friday addressed a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking compensation for the families of NEET aspirants who allegedly died by suicide. Implying that the cause of their deaths was a system failure, he demanded ₹1 million in compensation to provide immediate financial assistance to affected families.

Arguing that many parents had taken out substantial education loans to support their children’s academic aspirations, he wrote: “We have tragically lost 11 young students to suicide over the past few weeks. Most disturbingly, five of these heartbreaking losses have occurred within the last 48 hours.” According to him, this crisis situation threatens the future of our nation because it affects the lives and mental well-being of young students.

“Apart from the unbearable emotional trauma of losing a child, these families now face serious financial ruin. In the pursuit of a better future, many have taken massive education loans to support their children’s dreams, which have been cruelly crushed by systemic failures,” added Abhijeet Dipke.

Amid the examination controversies, the CJP plans to stage a second protest at Jantar Mantar on June 20 to intensify its campaign against alleged examination irregularities. The 30-year-old presented the organisation’s demand to remove Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan as he called for accountability.

Pointing to the paper leakage crisis, he said the government must step in to provide immediate relief. He reiterated his demand for Pradhan’s removal, stressing that students want accountability and structural reforms because failure to do so “inadvertently sends a message that the administration accepts the status quo.”

Dipke stressed that replacing the education minister would demonstrate the government’s commitment to accountability and is a “crucial step to restore the faith of millions of students and parents in our education framework”.

Earlier this month, on June 6, hundreds of students and young professionals gathered at Jantar Mantar in Delhi to demand Pradhan’s resignation over alleged irregularities in exams and recruitment tests. Over time, the youth-led organization has expanded its campaign to several cities to address controversies surrounding the examinations and allegations of paper leaks.

He concluded the letter: “We urge you to act immediately, prioritize the mental health and safety of our students, and implement the structural reforms needed to ensure that no more young lives are cut short by academic despair. Students from across India are gathering at Jantar Mantar on June 20 to raise our demand. We hope your government listens to the voice of India’s future.”

CJP secures police clearance for June 20 protest at Jantar Mantar

With Pradhan’s resignation a key demand of the CJP, its spokesperson Saurav Das said on Thursday that the organization had secured permission from the Delhi Police for the peaceful protest. Artists and singers were asked to join and perform at the demonstration.

Saurav Das further suggested that students, parents, teachers and citizens from across the country come together peacefully and demand accountability for paper leaks, examination irregularities and rising student suicides.
