Sports Minister V. Abdurahiman will be the chief guest at the official government Republic Day celebrations here on Monday (January 26, 2026) morning. He will unfurl the national flag at the Malabar Special Police (MSP) Parade Grounds at 9 am
He will enter the compound after paying floral tributes at the war memorial at the Civil Station. District Collector VR Vinod and District Superintendent of Police R. Viswanath will welcome the Minister.
Mr. Abdurahiman will take the salute during the parade and deliver the Republic Day message. Personnel of the Malabar Special Police, Armed Reserve Police, Excise, Women’s Police Wing, Forest Department, Fire Rescue, National Cadet Corps, Student Police Cadets, Scouts and Guides and Junior Red Cross will participate in the parade. There will be 37 Thursdays.
Assistant Commandant MSP K. Rajesh will lead the procession. Armed Police Inspector Pradeep K. Manoor will be second in command.
In Palakkad
In Palakkad, Power Minister K. Krishnankutty will be the chief guest. At 9 am at the Fort Grounds, he will hoist the flag and take the salute during the Republic Day parade. District Superintendent of Police Ajit Kumar and District Collector MS Madhavikutty will welcome the Minister.
Mr. Krishnankutty will distribute awards to the best squads. This will be followed by various cultural programs of selected students from schools and higher vocational schools.
