The legendary cricket AB de Villiers admitted that he expressed four words that explicitly told him that his good friend and former teammate with the royal challenges of Bengalur (RCB), Virt Kohli. The day after RCB spoke after nine years after RCB plunged Kings Pandjab in Mullanpur to achieve the Indian Premier League (IPL), De Villiers said he wasn’t to blame and promised to repeat these four words again.
For uninitiated, de Villiers revealed earlier in April that Kohli warned him of saying “ee saala cup namde” – Popular catchphrase among RCB supporters that translates to “Cup is our year.” This sentence has been widely used in the last few years, although the RCB has repeatedly stimulated under pressure, and the title continued to escape.
As soon as RCB players, including Kohl himself, this sentence became considered something like Jinx. Now, with RCB on the verge of achieving something special, De Villiers expressed a sincere wish for franchise and praised their impressive performance this season.
“Yeah, it wasn’t my fault. Guys are rude here, man – he builds traps for me,” De Villiers joked when the Mayanti Langer host asked if he had actually said a forbidden sentence.
In particular, De Villiers avoided the “EE Saala Cup Namde” on Thursday.
“Look, the boys play a very good cricket. They know they have to go there, put the foundation again, put in hard courts and handle great moments better than anyone they came against. I am very excited. I am also confident – but that does not mean we will win.”
“So I don’t say these words again.”
RCB brought clinical performance with the ball After winning the throwing and decided to mix on a spicy playground with thick grass. Former finalists bowed to Pandjab for only 101 at 14.1 overs, with Josh Hazlewood, Bhuvnesshwar Kumar and Yash Dayal by dismantling the top and medium order before Suyash Sharma claimed three goals to clean the lower middle order.
While the Virt Kohli failed to have an impact on a bat falling on 14, the explosive Phil Salt 56* out of 27 balls ensured that RCB was chasing a target in just 10 overs and secured its place in the final.
After winning 1 RCB players, RCB maintained their celebrations and acknowledged that the work had not yet been done. Kohli was seen to signal his wife Anushka Sharma, who was at the Mullanpur stands, suggesting that one more match before the celebrations could start.
