AAP leader shot dead in Punjab, opposition pushes for state govt. over bad law and order

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Satwinderpal Singh alias Lucky Oberoi was reportedly shot dead by two unidentified assailants in Punjab’s Jalandhar on Friday, even as opposition parties took a dig at the AAP government over the poor law and order situation in the state.

Police said the incident took place around 8 am when two unidentified assailants on a scooter opened fire on 43-year-old Oberoi at Gurudwara Singh Sabha in Model Town area. He was leaving after praying at the gurudwara. Mr. Oberoi, who was a Jalandhar-based AAP leader in charge of the Jalandhar Cantonment ward, was in a Special Utility Vehicle (SUV) when the assailants opened fire on him.
