
A young man was reportedly found drowned in a swimming pool at the former MP’s residence at Reddypalem village in Guntur Rural Mandal. After the incident, a suspicious death case was registered at the Nallapad police station. According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Polepogu Harsha Vardhan, who worked as a pool cleaner.
The incident took place when Harsha Vardhan went to clean the pool at the residence of former MP Modugula Venugopal Reddy. He accidentally fell into the pool and drowned for reasons that have not yet been determined. He was immediately rushed to the Government General Hospital (GGH), Guntur, where doctors declared him brought dead on arrival.
Based on a complaint filed by his mother Polepogu Madhavi of Swarnabharathi Nagar, the police registered a case under the suspicious death provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNSS) and started an investigation.
Guntur Superintendent of Police (SP) Vakul Jindal said CCTV footage from the premises was examined and showed Harsha Vardhan falling into the pool and drowning as he was unable to swim. He was the only person seen in the visuals when the incident occurred. Further clarification on the cause of death will be revealed after the medical report, he added.
