
The organization for transplantation of organs and tissues in Keral (K-Sotto), as part of their efforts to support the donation of deceased donors, organizes a workshop for doctors to determine the death of the brain.
The workshop will be held on September 20, Saturday at 10 am on the Medical College Auditorium at 10 am.
The director of medical education, KV Viswanathan, will inaugurate the program. The Chairman will be the Executive Director of K-Sotto, SS Noble Gracious.
The purpose of the seminars is to equip a doctor to accurately report cases of brain death on the ICU throughout the state, thus making the organ donation process more efficient. Detailed training will be provided on procedures for confirmation of brain death according to standards set out in the government order 2020 and on counseling families, and then the consent to the donation of the authorities shall seek.
Resources include Deepak Kumar Gupta, a professor of neurosurgery in Aiims, New Delhi; Ajay Prasad Hrishi, another professor of neuro anesthesia in Sctimst, Thiruvananthapuram; HV Easwar, head of neurosurgery, SCTIMST; Anil Satyadas, Professor and Head of Critical Care, Government Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram, Deep Das, Senior Consultant in Critical Care, Kimshealth. Ajith Joy, the lawyer of the Kherala High Court and the legal advisor K-Sotto, will speak of the role of doctors under the law.
