
An older woman who kept burns after a suspicious leakage of LPG and explosion in Velangallu on Tuesday died at a private hospital in Thissur on Wednesday.
Jayashree, 60, suffered over 95% of burns. Her house was destroyed in fire.
Her husband, Ravindran (70), who suffered heavy burns while trying to save her, was moved to a private hospital in Ernacula.
The couple left on Tuesday morning. While in the afternoon the house came back and turned on the light, there was an explosion, probably caused by leaked gas. According to the fire and rescue staff, it is assumed that the rubber tube connecting the lpg roller with the burner escaped.
After investigating the police Irinjalakuda and the post-mortal test, Jayashree’s body was handed over to her family. Her cremation will take place later.
