The festive mood at the housewarming ceremony turned somber after one of the guests died of a suspected heart attack at Puttakota in the city’s Khammam mandal on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Sushmitha, 44, a resident of Gandhi Chowk in Khammam.
Sources said Sushmitha attended the housewarming ceremony at her relative’s house on Monday morning.
Soon after the ceremony, she reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest while posing for a group photo with her relatives.
She was immediately taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
