The woman was arrested for the alleged killing of her husband by defeating him with a wand and trying to pass it as a natural death. The victim was identified as Bhaskar, 42 years, residents of Sadduuguundepalya.
Bhaskar was reportedly announced that he died in sleep 27 June. His wife Shithi (32) claimed to be an alcoholic who returned home the previous night, went to bed and was dead when she tried to wake him up in the morning.
The police reported an unnatural death register and made an autopsy. Shithi and family members made the last ceremonies.
The autopsy report, however, revealed that Bhaskar died of head injury he suffered because of an attack with a blunt object. Then the police detained Shithi and allegedly confessed during the interrogation that she had beaten him with a wooden wand.
