An unattended bag spotted on a road in the Maharashtra city of Nashik on Sunday (November 16, 2025) morning sparked panic, but police later confirmed that it did not contain anything suspicious.
The police received a call in the morning that a suspicious object was lying near the Indiranagar underpass, which is adjacent to the Mumbai-Agra National Highway, an official said.
After being alerted, the police went to the spot and evacuated the area. The Bomb Detection & Disposal Squad (BDDS), dog squad and personnel from other agencies also reached the spot.
“We received a call that something suspicious is lying near the Indira Nagar underpass. Nothing suspicious was found while verifying the object. A birthday gift box was found. There is no need to panic. We request people not to spread any rumours,” said an official from Ambad police station.
A car blast near Delhi’s Red Fort on November 11 left 13 dead and several others injured, although investigators said more attacks were planned in four cities across the country by an interstate “white-collar terror” module.
