A student from Jagtial district in Telangana brought home a gold medal to OU

Katla Kavya, a student of the 2023-25 ​​batch of the Master of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication program at the Osmania University (OU) Postgraduate College, Siddipet, has won the Major SM Hussain and Amina Begum Gold Medal for securing the highest aggregate marks in the first division in her first attempt at university examinations.

Hailing from Anantaram village in Jagtial district, Kavya studied exclusively in government institutions, from primary to higher education, a press release said.

He will receive the gold medal from Telangana Governor and Osmania University Chancellor Shiv Pratap Shukla at the university’s 85th convocation at the Tagore Auditorium in the OU Hyderabad campus on September 8.

Kavya’s academic success has drawn recognition as she hails from a rural background and overcame financial difficulties to excel in her academic pursuits.
